Chris Cannon

Chris Cannon has been involved in the financial services and banking industry since 2002. Chris began his investment banking career in the Asset/Liability Management Group of a large “regional” broker with a nationwide presence. In this role, Chris assisted community banks in modeling and managing interest rate risk. He performed in-depth financial analysis of community banks’ balance sheets and income statements and provided recommendations to upper level management. Chris then worked in the Interest Rate Products Group where he was active in the structuring and marketing of balance sheet hedges through the use of interest rate derivatives as well as helping banks access the repurchase agreement markets as an alternative source of funding.
As a Vice President in the Premium Strategies Group, Chris now serves institutional clients nationwide by assisting them in focusing on those products and strategies that fit their needs. His strong accounting and regulatory knowledge coupled with his extensive computer-based analytic capabilities and product expertise enable Chris to provide a superior level of service to his clients.
Chris provides his clients with unique services that differentiate him from other investment professionals. These services include:
- Quarterly color graph studies with specific short and long term recommendations for earnings improvement and/or risk reduction
- Monthly reporting of projected cashflow ladders including prepay and call feature estimates
- Instant notification and well documented explanations of trade opportunities when bonds brought into inventory match a customer’s holdings
- Superior analytics prior to trade execution interfacing Bloomberg information with spreadsheets to provide concise summaries of the risks and rewards of various investment opportunities
- Documentation packets after each trade executed that include a summary of the reasons for the trade as well as all required regulatory supporting documentation
Chris is a graduate of The University of Tennessee where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance. Chris has completed the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licensing and registration programs Series 7 General Securities Representative and Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law examinations. He and his wife, Cortney, reside in Memphis.
