Joe joined the firm in 1986 as a member of the Portfolio Strategies Department. Joe was involved in the preparation and presentation of comprehensive management reports for members of senior management and Boards of Directors of financial institutions scattered throughout 18 states. These reports covered “what if” scenarios designed to increase profits while minimizing investment risks through specific analysis of individual investment opportunities and the development of overall, strategic investment plans. Joe has been a featured speaker at numerous state and regional banking conventions and the Financial Managers' Society.

As a Senior Vice President in the Premium Strategies Group, Joe focuses on financial institutions and has assisted several de-novo institutions during their critical startup years. His extensive public accounting and banking background is well suited to provide the best assistance in helping clients understand the impact of regulatory changes and market movements on their earnings. Joe’s approach integrates:

Prior to joining the firm, Joe was the CFO and COO of a medium-sized thrift institution with an extensive mortgage banking operation. He spent seven years with KPMG Peat Marwick in Memphis where he was a Senior Manager overseeing the office's Banking Practice and Private Business Advisory Services. He was an instructor at the firm's international headquarters in New York City and a Computer Audit Specialist.

Joe is a CPA and holds a BS degree from the University of Tennessee where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Major in Accounting and a Minor in Business Law. He holds Series 7 (General Registration), Series 3 (Commodities) and Series 63 (Agent) security registrations. Joe has four children. He resides with his wife in Memphis.
